Beginners Discover Scuba Dive (Resort) – BACK TO LIST

$110 Plus 10% service charge and 10% taxes (includes brochure & equipment)

Come and experience the beauty of the underwater world and swim amid vibrant corals and with schools of tropical fish. Our highly trained Instructors will teach you basic theory and familiarize you with the equipment before leading you on a safe and controlled dive with limited depth. These courses are offered twice daily and are conducted just off our beach in one of St. Lucia’s renowned marine reserves.

In order to sign-up for the course, a DIVE MEDICAL QUESTIONNAIRE must be reviewed to ensure one’s fitness for diving. If you any ‘Yes” answers on the medical form, just take this form along to your doctor before traveling to St Lucia in order to get medical clearance to dive. Romance Below & Beyond! – BACK TO LIST

Couples wishing to make their first dive a shared private special experience can sign up for the ROMANCE BELOW AND BEYOND beginner’s course. The Discover Scuba Dive course will be taught exclusively for the couple, and will include a personalized underwater mixed slide show DVD (with photos and video clips) to remember this special event.

ReActivate Course – BACK TO LIST

$90 Plus 10% service charge and 10% taxes (excludes equipment & online component ~$45)

If you are a certified diver who has not been in the water for an extended period of time a ReActivate course will tune up your knowledge and skills to provide you the confidence to get back to diving. Whether you want a few reminders or need to go over the basics, ReActivate is personalized for you: You will conveniently review scuba concepts on your tablet, mobile device or computer before you reach us here at Scuba St Lucia. This can be done by logging onto PADI’s e-learning site and complete the ReActivate online learning at a cost of $59.95. On arrival you will then go diving with one of our highly experienced PADI Professionals where you will received tailor made on-land instruction, confined open water skills refresher and one dive with your own PADI professional. At completion a new certification card is issued to you with your original certification date and a new ‘ReActivated on…” date! You will be ready to get back into the diving world!

PADI Scuba Diver Course – BACK TO LIST

$310 Plus 10% service charge and 10% taxes (includes PADI Open water student manual, equipment & certification cost)

The Scuba Diver course is designed for guests who do not have the time to complete the entire Open Water Course. The Scuba Diver Course covers the first 3 chapters of the Open Water Manual which should be read before hand or completed via PADI’s e-learning or Open Water Diver Touch. You can log into PADI ELEARNING to begin! The Scuba Diver Course includes 3 Confined Water sessions and 2 Open Water dives. After knowledge portion is complete, this would take 1 full day. After completing the Scuba Diver certification a student is qualified to dive to 40ft with an Instructor or Divemaster.

Upgrade from PADI Scuba Diver to PADI Open Water – BACK TO LIST

For divers that already have the Scuba Diver certification and wish to upgrade to an Open Water certification. You will first need to touch up on some knowledge with a half day either in the classroom or completing your PADI e-learning course. You can complete this prior to your arrival via PADI’s e-learning or using Open water Diver Touch products. When you reach us here at Scuba St Lucia you will do 2 confined water dives and 2 open water dives. You will then be fully open water certified to dive to 60ft/18m independently of a PADI Pro!

PADI Open Water Certification Options – BACK TO LIST

If you’ve always wanted to take scuba diving lessons, experience unparalleled adventure and see the world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver course – the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba course. On arrival you will be presented with your student manual and Open water DVD. You can spend a relaxing day on the beach reading the required chapters of the manual and watch the DVD on your own time. At this time your instructor will review the knowledge sections with you and administer the required quizzes and exams. After that is done, you will venture into the water to complete 5 confimed open water dives to get the required skill sets under your belt. You will then take part in 4 open water dives to compelte your certification. This (once the knowledge is completed should take approximately 2.5 – 3 days. Sound like too much reading on holiday? The newest way to learn to dive is on your computer via e-learning, or offline using your Ipad or android device via PADI’s brand new Open Water Diver Touch program! PADI Open Water Course Referral (knowledge development and pool work completed prior to arrival) – BACK TO LIST

$300 Plus 10% service charge and 10% taxes (includes equipment & certification cost)

The Referral Course is designed so you can complete half of your course at home prior to your holiday. You may do the academic and confined water sessions at your own schedule via elearning, Open Water Diver Touch and with a local dive store (most areas offer many options to choose from). The dive store will issue you a PADI/UNIVERSAL Referral which allows you to complete the remainder of the course with us within 12 months from the last day of your training.

Once you arrive with us at Scuba St. Lucia, the Referral is completed in two half days by doing 4 dives: 2 open water training dives per day. The cost of the Referral Course includes the 4 training dives, all equipment and certification upon successful completion. This is a very popular option as it allows you to spend more time enjoying your holiday and doing what you like most – scuba diving.

PADI Advanced Open Water Course – BACK TO LIST

Feel the need for adventure? The advanced training consists of “hands on courses” with minimal classroom time and plenty of diving. This very popular course allows students to learn mold and develop as well as improve upon their diving skills all while exploring St. Lucia’s best marine reserve areas and exploring new areas of diving! You will spend 2 days diving closely with a PADI professional to improve your skill and comfort level in the water while having a lot of fun!

The Advanced open water course consists of 2 required core dives: Deep and Navigation. You then select 3 additional adventure dives; some of the popular options include Wreck Diving, Enriched Air Nitrox, AWARE Shark Conservation, Peak performance buoyancy, Drift, Fish identification, Digital Photography, Night Diving. The knowledge portion of the course can again be done prior to arrival with PADI e –learning (see link below) or can be done on arrival at the resort.

Adventure Diver – BACK TO LIST

No time to complete the full advanced course? Take advantage of the Adventures in Diving program, taking only 1 day, which allows you do the specialty options one at a time towards your advanced certification. After achieveign this certification level you can continue your adventure diving on your next vacation to complete the Advanced Certification requirement of five adventure dives. Remember, one adventure dive credits as the first dive of any specialty! We offer adventure dives or full specialties in many areas including Enriched Air, Drift diving, boat diving, AWARE Shark Conservation, Fish Identification, Digital Photography, Videographer and Night Diving.

AWARE – Coral Reef Conservation Specialty Course – BACK TO LIST

The AWARE – Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course teaches divers, snorkelers and non-divers about the vital role of coral reefs in the marine environment. The course also familiarizes participants with the current status of the world’s coral reefs and how they can help.There are no mandatory dives or age limits. Divers and non-divers alike enjoy learning about the aquatic environment.

  • Covers the importance of coral reefs to marine ecosystems and coastal areas Coral reef biology, association and competition

Have you ever asked yourself, “What was that?”. The PADI Project AWARE Fish Identification Specialty course provides you with the fish identification basics so that next time, you know the answer. During two dives you gain hands-on experience in looking for and identifying the fascinating fish you see underwater. You can learn more about Project AWARE by going to PROJECTAWARE.ORG.

Sharks are crucial to marine ecosystems, yet sharks are in a global decline. Learn about the value of sharks and what is causing the rapid loss of shark populations. The course may include two scuba dives or may be presented as a nondiving education program.

AWARE Specialty Course – BACK TO LIST

Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course can benefit almost every diver because different boats in different parts of the world do things differently. The PADI Boat Diver Specialty course familiarizes you with the various ways you stow gear, enter and exit the water, use surface lines and more, depending upon the type boat and the location.

    • Covers techniques for diving from boats ranging from small inflatable’s to giant live-aboards
    • Discusses how dive boats differ from place to place
    • Gives you focused experience and training for diving from boats in your local area

The Deep Diver Specialty course offers you the opportunity of a lifetime – going deep to see things others can only dream about. In this course you will experience what it’s like to dive beyond 100 feet/30m Down there, it’s different. It takes additional training. Here’s where you get it.

    • Gain experience with diving deep under the direct, professional supervision of a PADI Instructor

Whether you’re a casual holiday snapper or a consummate photo pro, these seminars review the basics as they apply to taking photos underwater. Learn to use your digital underwater camera with a special emphasis on practical techniques. This is a dry seminar so camera equipment is not included.

Digital Underwater Photographer Course (also available through PADI eLearning) – BACK TO LIST

Digital has taken the underwater photography world by storm. Get in on the action with the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Level 1 or the full Specialty course (level 1 and 2). You can quickly and easily capture the underwater world with your camera and on your computer. The PADI Drift Diver Specialty Course introduces you to the coolest magic carpet ride you’ll ever experience. This course shows you how to enjoy rivers and ocean currents by “going with the flow,” staying with your dive partner, communicating with the dive boat and knowing where you are the entire time.

    • Planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of drift diving
    • An introduction to drift diving equipment — floats, lines, reels
    • Buoyancy-control, navigation and communication for drift diving
    • Site selection and overview of aquatic currents – causes and effects
    • Techniques for staying close to a buddy or together as a group
    • Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organization) and be at least 12 years old

Emergency Oxygen Provider – BACK TO LIST

Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is a great skill to have and means you’re ready to help others should the need arise. Becoming a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider lets you breathe easy knowing that you can recognize scuba diving illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen, and are prepared to offer aid.

There are no prerequisites, age restrictions or water sessions required for this course – it’s open to everyone. Scuba divers, snorkelers and anyone who is around divers – boat crew, lifeguards, etc. – will benefit from having this training.

  • Assembling and disassembling emergency oxygen equipment.
  • Deploying a non-rebreather mask and a demand inhalator valve on a breathing diver.
  • Using a pocket mask on a non-breathing diver.
  • No prerequisites
  • Manual is required- course cost does not include cost of manual
  • Can be done in conjunction with the PADI Rescue Course or EFR courses.

Enriched Air Diver Specialty Course – BACK TO LIST

$150 plus 10% tax and 10% service fee, includes manual and certification cost.

Diving with enriched air, Nitrox, lets you safely extend your no stop time beyond the no decompression limits for air. Diving with enriched air means more time underwater – but you need to be certified as an Enriched Air Diver to get enriched air fills. Whether you’re into underwater photography or wreck diving, on vacation in some tropical paradise or just out for a leisurely day of diving at your local dive site, the PADI Enriched Air Diver course helps you get more out of diving by giving you more time underwater. In this course you will learn to safely increase your no stop time. You will also learn how to analyze cylinder contents, plan enriched air dives using tables and dive computers; certification counts towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. This course is a “dry course”, so no dives are required but are optional. See the ‘Scuba St Lucia’ Special to learn how you can start this course immediately and complete it when you arrive!

Invasive Lionfish Tracker Specialty Specialty Course – BACK TO LIST

$180, 2 dives

Be part of St Lucia’s newest specialty! Lionfish eradication. Learn about the Lionfish issues and what challenges we face to control this invasive species. Then go on 2 dives with an experienced Lionfish instructor and remove these alien species from our reefs. Do not worry, they will not go to waste.. why not sign up for our special gourmet lionfish Friday private dinners (surcharge), where you will enjoy the lionfish you caught prepared by world renowned chefs in multiple ways. All dishes are paired with a selection of wines and alls served on a private candle lit beach side table with beach bonfire!

Do you want to maximize your dive times? (Of course). Want to get the most out of your dive computer? (Naturally). Then the PADI Multilevel and Computer Diver Specialty course is for you.In this course, you learn how to plan dives that extend your bottom time by crediting you for slower nitrogen absorption when you ascend to a shallower depth. That’s the way you really dive, after all. This course is perfect for those who want to master the art of using their dive computer under the close guidance of an instructor. You’ll learn to use dive tables and dive computers to plan multilevel dives.

  • Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certification from another training organization) and 12 years old

Night Diver Specialty Course – BACK TO LIST

As the sun sets, you don your dive gear, slip on your mask and bite down on your regulator. A deep breath and you step into the underwater night. Although you’ve seen this reef many times before, this time you drop into a whole new world and watch it come to life under the glow of your dive light. The adventure, thrill and excitement of night diving can be yours if you complete the PADI Night Diver Specialty. You learn about night dive planning, equipment and navigation. You practice these on three night dives, plus introduce yourself to the whole new cast of critters that come out after the sun goes down. Go night diving and see the underwater world in a whole new light – a dive light. Feel free to bring your own, or rent dive lights and underwater glow sticks from us here at the dive shop.

Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. Course participants learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a non-stressful learning environment. All courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning and allow you start learning right away.EFR courses meet the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level ratings. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors.

PADI Seal Team – BACK TO LIST – BACK TO LIST

To join the PADI Seal Team, a child must be 8 years of age or older. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water. Parental approval is required.The PADI Seal Team program teaches responsibility and respect for the aquatic realm. It’s broken into two parts. Part one, AquaMissions 1 – 5, covers basic scuba diving skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and swimming around experiencing the sensation of being weightless. Each session takes about an hour. Complete these AquaMissions and become a recognized PADI Seal Team Member. Your experience may also count toward the PADI Open Water Diver course when you’re old enough to participate in the course.

Part two, 10 specialty AquaMissions, includes adventures like creature identification, search and recovery diving, and skin diving. Complete all of these and you’ll become a PADI Master Seal Team Member – joining an elite group of young scuba divers.
