Snorkeling in St. Lucia

Some of the best snorkeling in St.Lucia and the Caribbean can be found in front of the Anse Chastanet beach. The Anse Chastanet reef has been recognized as one of the best snorkeling and beach diving locations in the Caribbean.

The Anse Chastanet Reef is conveniently located right in front of the dive center with easy access from shore. The reef has been buoyed off for snorkeling safety thus allowing no boats in the snorkel area. The reef has a plateau area with depths between 5 and 25 feet. At the end of this plateau, the reef falls away from 20 to 140 feet in a solid wall of mixed corals and a variety of fish life.

The reef is a favorite of professional underwater photographers and videographers who visit Scuba St. Lucia. As you enter the water you are immediately greeted by a big school of Sergeant Majors. The reef is alive with Parrot Fish, Trumpet Fish, Needle Fish and many more.

The shallow reefs allow even the beginner snorkeler to enjoy the Anse Chastanet Reef.

Guided Boat Snorkel Trips
Scuba St. Lucia offers guided boat snorkel trips to other sites within the marine park. You may snorkel under the majestic Pitons near the town of Soufriere, or explore snorkel sites further north.

We offer morning and afternoon escorted boat snorkel trips by boat Monday through Saturday. All of our snorkel guides are Emergency First Response and DAN Oxygen Provider trained and hold a minimum of a PADI Rescue Diver Certification.

Snorkel Instruction
All our snorkel guides are trained to offer introductory snorkel sessions for new participants or for those who wish to refresh their snorkeling skills. Our snorkel guides will teach you different snorkeling techniques to make your snorkeling fun and easy. Once comfortable in the water, they will escort you onto the Anse Chastanet Reef and show you the beauty of St. Lucia’s underwater world.

Private, escorted snorkel trips off Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin

Guests staying at Anse Chastanet or sister resort Jade Mountain may obtain snorkel gear and life vests from the dive centre on complimentary basis. Guests are able to explore the snorkel sites off Anse Chastanet and Anse Mamin beach but can reserve a snorkel guide to enhance the experience by being accompanied by one of our knowledgeable guides.

Reef Life and Renewal at Anse Chastanet and Scuba St. Lucia

At Anse Chastanet and Scuba St. Lucia, we take immense pride in our dedicated coral restoration efforts under the Reef Life and Renewal Program. We regularly host informative presentations focusing on various aspects of marine life, including behavior and identification of different species. These sessions are designed not only to enlighten but also to inspire a deeper appreciation for the intricate underwater world.
